biodynamic massage therapy

The main concept of Biodynamic Psychotherapy is that there is a universal life force energy that our systems are innately designed to connect to, and when we are in relationship to this we can feel in free flow with life. There is a felt connection to 'the self which exists beyond trauma, emotional hang ups, educational or societal restraints and belief systems.' - Gerda Boyesen.

Biodynamic massage rests at the intersection between massage and psychotherapeutic practices.

The overall aim is to increase our awareness of ourselves as whole beings, become better connected with our nature and facilitate learning and integration.

It is a subtle, powerful method of connection through presence.

A stethoscope is placed on the belly, to listen to gut rumblings called ‘psycho-peristalsis’.

These sounds are used as guidance as to what is happening in the autonomic nervous system.

A key function of the gut is to digest and process emotional material and residue from experiences, and from thoughts and memories which once carried a level of energy.

These sessions are client led. We meet what’s there on the day, and follow the energy.

Jessica has been facilitating connection through the body for nearly 10 years.

She enjoys working with people to explore the well of intelligence and wisdom that can be accessed when we drop our awareness into the breath, into the bones, into the present moment.

"Slowing down and apprenticing to the subtle body is revolutionary in these times.

It is essential for our wellbeing that we learn how to contain our personal energy, alongside the enormity of the collective.

When we start to invite ourselves more deeply into what it means to be in a body, we can widen the breadth of our understanding as a human. This can further open us to our place within all things, and how we might consider our contribution more fully."

What others have said...

“That last session was absolutely incredible, when I opened my eyes tears started streaming from my face and it felt so so good! I really needed that release. I also feel better than I have in such a long time!”

“After our session on Wednesday was the first time I put myself out in the world and around quite a lot of people. I then went out this weekend to a friends birthday dinner and went dancing with a group of people I didn’t know. This was such a huge breakthrough for me because I have been isolating and not seeing anyone for over a year. I’m completely exhausted, became overwhelmed but realise this is a huge break through for me and am celebrating that :) “

"The session helped me realise how deeply exhausted I am and how much I need to slow down, be still, truly rest and surrender to what is. I realised how much I was resisting all of these things that I know are medicine and what I need. Thank you for your wisdom and guidance and for holding such a safe space. I look forward to next week”

“Thank you Jessica, the class was so beautiful and truly deeply nourishing and healing. I went straight to sleep after I got home and had some wild dreams, but just woke up and I feel so grounded and peaceful.”
